A severe Covid-19 case in the early phase of the pandemic - Lessons learnt
Abstract
The management of severe Covid-19 cases has been changing throughout the past year. Lessons learnt on the progress of patients with severe disease in the early phase of the pandemic is important. We report a ventilated COVID-19 patient in a secondary hospital during the early phase of the pandemic which had resulted in a poor outcome. It also highlights the importance of adopting strategies and supportive care to conduct effective risk stratification and preparations such as adequate laboratory and intensive care support in treating patients with severe COVID-19
