Focus and Scope

The Journal of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences (JBCS), previously known as the Biohealth Science Bulletin (BSB) [eISSN: 2550-147X], is a peer-reviewed journal publishes twice a year, in June and December, and is available as an open-access resource.

JBCS is committed to embracing diverse perspectives and approaches within the biomedical and clinical sciences. It welcomes submissions of original research articles, reviews, short communications, case reports, and letters to the editor. These contributions encompass a wide spectrum of topics, spanning from the fundamental aspects of biomedical and clinical sciences to their application in medicine, dentistry, and healthcare management.

Authors who wish to submit their work to JBCS are required to ensure that their submissions have not been previously published elsewhere and are not currently under consideration by other journals. The decision to accept a manuscript for publication in JBCS is determined through a rigorous single-blinded peer review process. Authors are requested to utilize the online submission and review system for manuscript submission.

JBCS aspires to serve as a forum for researchers in both basic science and clinical disciplines, allowing them to effectively communicate and share their research findings. By granting unrestricted access to scholarly communication, JBCS strives to advance the field of biomedical and clinical sciences through the exchange of knowledge.

Peer Review Process

The journal employs a single-blind peer review process, where the identities of the reviewers are kept confidential. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous evaluation to assess their originality, validity, relevance, and potential impact on the broader readership of JBCS.

The peer-review of a manuscript is a strictly confidential procedure, and reviewers are expected to maintain the utmost discretion. Reviewers must refrain from divulging any information related to the submitted manuscript to external parties or the general public without first obtaining explicit permission from the Editor-in-Chief or Section Editor.

It is important to note that special issues and conference proceedings may involve distinct peer review procedures, which might include the involvement of Guest Editors, conference organizers, or scientific committees. Authors contributing to such projects can obtain comprehensive information about the peer review process upon request from the editorial office.

Revenue generated from advertising sales supports the journal’s mission.

Publication Frequency

The journal is published biannually, specifically in the months of June and December each year. Once accepted, all articles are promptly released following the production process. This rapid turnaround ensures that readers can access the most recent research findings and content with minimal delay, enabling immediate citation of the papers.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Ethics

  1. Authorship should be limited to
    • those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study.
    • those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors.
    • others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors.
       
  2. The corresponding author should
    • ensure that all appropriate co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper.
    • have agreed to its submission for publication.
    • manage any requests to add, delete or rearrange author names in an article published in an online issue.
       
  3. The authors should
    • ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited or quoted.
    • secured the necessary reproduction rights with the rights holder for any third party material (images, digital content, etc.) you have used prior to submission.
    • ensure that they have acknowledge any funding that have contributed to the publication.
    • provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to provide public access and retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
    • NOT in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication.
    • NOT submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
    • include disclosure of all relationships that could be viewed as presenting a potential conflict of interest.
    • promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
    • ensure that the manuscript contains a statement that all procedures were performed in compliance with relevant laws and institutional guidelines and that the appropriate institutional committee(s) has approved them.
    • include a statement in the manuscript that informed consent was obtained for experimentation with human subjects.
    • obtain appropriate consents, permissions and releases where an author wishes to include case details or other personal information or images of patients and any other individuals.
       
  4. The Editors and/or Editorial Board should
    • keep information pertaining to submitted manuscripts confidential.
    • disclose any conflicts of interest.
    • evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
    • be responsible for making publication decisions for submitted manuscripts.
    • review suspected incidents of plagiarism.
       
  5. Reviewers should
    • notify the journal of any conflicts of interest.
    • keep information pertaining to the manuscript confidential.
    • bring to the attention of the Editors any information that may be reason to reject publication of a manuscript.
    • evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

 

 

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...
